Turin: Liver Transplant Found for 15-Year-Old Heatstroke Victim from Metsovo

A liver transplant has been found for 15-year-old Dimitris, who suffered heatstroke in Metsovo and was transferred to Turin for a liver transplant. The child, who suffers from anhidrosis, has been transferred to the operating room.

Following mobilization by Greek and Italian health authorities, a compatible liver donor was found. The 15-year-old from Farsala is at a clinic in Turin for the transplant.

Dimitris' father had appealed for help, emphasizing his child's sensitivity to heat. Anhidrosis, a rare condition that prevents the body from sweating, worsened Dimitris' condition.
