A 16-day-old infant is being treated in the Covid Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital of Chania after being diagnosed with coronavirus. According to zarpanews.gr, the baby boy was born in a private clinic and, after being discharged, developed serious symptoms that led to his admission to the ICU.

The director of the Chania Hospital, Giorgos Beas, told Creta24 that the infant's health condition is stable. Additionally, a 5-year-old girl is being treated in the pediatric Covid clinic.

Professor of Pulmonology Stelios Loukidis stated on ERT that there is an increase in coronavirus cases, but there is no cause for concern. He noted that the increase mainly concerns people with underlying diseases or older age groups. He advised caution, especially in contact with vulnerable people, and the use of simple tests in case of mild symptoms.

Mr. Loukidis mentioned that the approvals of antiviral drugs have increased, but remain at lower levels compared to previous years.
