UK: Pancreas Problems Reported with Weight Loss Injections

British health authorities are concerned about hundreds of reports of acute pancreatitis in users of GLP-1 injectable drugs, including Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and liraglutide. Some cases have been fatal.
The MHRA has received nearly 400 reports of pancreatitis. Since the beginning of 2025, 22 cases have been reported in connection with semaglutide (Ozempic and Wegovy) and 101 with tirzepatide (Mounjaro).
The MHRA is studying the existence of genetic factors predisposing to the disease. Lilly and Novo Nordisk, manufacturers of Mounjaro, Ozempic and Wegovy, respectively, stated that they take patient safety seriously.
It is estimated that one in six hospitalizations is due to adverse drug reactions, costing the NHS over £2.2 billion annually.
