Argentina: Nearly Complete Skeleton of Ancient Dinosaur Discovered

Argentine scientists have discovered a nearly complete skeleton of a new dinosaur species in the Andes Mountains, dating back approximately 230 million years. This find makes it one of the oldest dinosaurs in the world, according to the Conicet Institute.
The skeleton of the long-necked species, named Huayracursor jaguensis, was found at an altitude of 3,000 meters in the La Rioja province of northwestern Argentina. The discovery was made by paleontologists from Conicet, Argentina's public research institute, and published in the journal Nature.
Researchers estimate that Huayracursor lived at the end of the Triassic period, when the first dinosaurs appeared. An adult would have been approximately two meters tall and weighed about 18 kilograms. The skeleton includes part of the skull, a complete spine, and almost all limbs.
The authors of the article believe that the fossil will become a reference point for the study of dinosaur evolution.
