Artemis II Sets New Distance Record from Earth

The Artemis II mission has set a new record, traveling farther from Earth than any other manned mission. It surpassed the record held by the Apollo 13 mission since 1970.
The Artemis II crew exceeded the 400,171 kilometers traveled by Lovell, Swigert, and Haise on Apollo 13, reaching 406,708 kilometers.
During the mission, for 40 minutes, the crew will be on the far side of the Moon, without communication with NASA's mission control.
NASA's Mission Control congratulated the astronauts on their historic achievement.
