Eurovision 2026 Withdrawals: Ireland Threatens Exit Over Israel

The Irish broadcaster RTÉ has announced that the country may not participate in Eurovision 2026 if Israel participates. The decision will be made following the EBU's decision.
According to the announcement, Ireland's participation would be unacceptable due to the loss of life in Gaza.
Similar statements have been made by the national broadcaster of Slovenia, RTVSLO, and the Minister of Culture of Spain, Ernest Urtasun.
Stefán Eiríksson from the national broadcaster of Iceland, RÚV, stated that his country's participation depends on consultations within the EBU.
RTÉ also expressed concerns about the targeted elimination of journalists in Gaza and the denial of access to the region.
Before this year's competition, RTÉ's Director-General, Kevin Backhurst, expressed shock at the events in the Middle East.
