Increased Security Measures for Eurovision in Vienna

Vienna is increasing security measures ahead of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in May. Authorities have announced strict security checks for spectators and participants, similar to those at airports.
Lingens Oliver Lingens, artistic director of ORF, emphasized that security is a non-negotiable priority. Approximately 500 security personnel will be present daily at the Stadthalle, the main venue for the contest.
Bags will not be allowed inside, and specially trained dogs will patrol key locations before and during the contest, which will be held from May 12 to 16.
