French Actor Tchéky Karyo Dies at 72

French actor of Turkish origin, Tchéky Karyo, has passed away at the age of 72. His wife, Valérie Keruzoré, and their children announced the loss of the actor, who lost his battle with cancer on Friday, October 31st.

Tchéky Karyo became known in the late 1980s, mainly through his starring role in the film 'The Bear' by Jean-Jacques Annaud. He also participated in the film 'Nikita' by Luc Besson.

During his career, Karyo collaborated with directors such as Jean-Pierre Jeunet ('Amélie'), Walter Salles ('Terra Estrangeira'), and Ridley Scott ('1492: Conquest of Paradise').
