The comedian referred to her brother's drug addiction and violent behavior, claiming that he likely suffered from an undiagnosed mental illness. Griffin explained that the revelations concern her brother, Kenneth, who has now passed away.

At the age of 10, Griffin learned from her brother's first wife that he was beating her severely. Later, she claimed, she learned that Kenneth had sexually abused at least one boy and one girl.

Griffin stressed that her references are exclusively about Kenneth and not her other siblings. She said that she maintains a close relationship with her brother John.
