Britney Spears Pleads Guilty to DUI, Receives 12 Months Probation

Britney Spears has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics and has been sentenced to 12 months of probation by the Ventura County Superior Court.
The singer was arrested in March in California on suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and substances near her home.
The 44-year-old star did not appear in person but pleaded guilty through her lawyer, Michael A. Goldstein. The "wet reckless" procedure allows for 12 months of probation, fines, and the obligation to attend an education program.
A few days prior, Spears had left a treatment facility she had voluntarily entered weeks earlier.
