Diane Ladd: Cause of Death of Oscar-Nominated Actress Announced

The cause of death of Diane Ladd, the Oscar-nominated actress who passed away on November 4th at the age of 89, has been announced. The news was made public by her daughter.
PEOPLE magazine obtained the death certificate, which states that the cause of death was 'acute hypoxemic respiratory failure.' The certificate also notes that Ladd had suffered from interstitial lung disease for years, and an additional aggravating condition was 'esophageal dysmotility.'
Diane Ladd's career began in 1974 with Martin Scorsese's film 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore,' for which she received her first Oscar nomination. She subsequently appeared in numerous films and television series, including 'All Night Long,' 'Black Widow,' and 'Joy.'
Ladd was married to actor Bruce Dern and they had two children. In 1962, the family experienced a tragedy with the death of their 18-month-old daughter.
