Actor Gary Busey, 81, has pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a woman at an event in New Jersey three years ago. He admitted to inappropriately touching the woman during Monster-Mania Con, a horror film convention.

Busey was accused by multiple women of harassment during the event, which took place in August 2022. He was initially charged with sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, and harassment.

In a Zoom hearing, Busey pleaded guilty to one of the charges, stating that the touching was not accidental. The court's decision is expected next month.

Busey's lawyer stated that the actor wishes to put the matter behind him. He clarified that Busey admitted to touching the woman's buttocks over her clothing. He faces a suspended prison sentence of up to five years and a $500 fine.

Initially, Gary Busey had denied the charges, claiming that nothing happened. The festival organizers' lawyer stated that the actor was removed from the premises following complaints.

Gary Busey was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in The Buddy Holly Story. He has also appeared in Leathal Weapon and DCCab. He participated in the reality show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008.
