Owen Cooper Makes History at Critics Choice Awards

16-year-old actor Owen Cooper made history at the Critics Choice Awards, winning the Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series award for his performance in Netflix's Adolescence. He became the youngest male to ever win the award.
Cooper, who gained wider recognition for his role as Jamie Miller in Adolescence, has also secured roles in the film adaptation of 'Wuthering Heights' and the new series Film Club.
Accepting his award, Cooper thanked those who contributed and described the past year as pivotal for him and his family. He grew up in a working-class area of Warrington and continues to attend school, planning to fully dedicate himself to acting after his exams.
He was inspired to pursue acting after seeing Tom Holland in the film The Impossible. Sahin Beyg selected him for the role in Adolescence from among 500 candidates.
