Mourning for Brad Pitt and his family as his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, has passed away at the age of 84. The news was announced by her granddaughter and the actor's niece, Sydney, via social media.

Sydney, daughter of Brad's younger brother, Doug, bid farewell to her grandmother with a touching post, describing her as a person full of love and kindness. "We weren't ready to say goodbye to you," she wrote.

Jane Etta Pitt worked as a family counselor and married William Alvin Pitt in 1962. A year later, in 1963, Brad Pitt was born, followed by their son Doug (1966) and their daughter Julie (1969).
