James Cameron: Avatar 4 continuation is likely

James Cameron stated that it is very likely that he will proceed with the production of "Avatar 4". A recent Variety publication reports that, despite revenues exceeding $1.4 billion worldwide, "Avatar: Fire and Ash" (2025) has not yet generated profits for Disney, due to high production and promotion costs.
According to Cameron, the audience's response will play a decisive role in the course of the story in the fourth part. During the Saturn Awards, he mentioned that he considers it "very likely" that another sequel will proceed.
"Avatar 4" is expected to be released on December 21, 2029, while the fifth film is scheduled for December 19, 2031. Cameron is also considering other projects, such as the adaptation of "Ghosts of Hiroshima" and "The Devils" to the big screen, while trying to find new ideas for a new "Terminator" film.
