Italian designer Giorgio Armani, known for redefining men's and women's fashion, has died at the age of 91. The news of his death was announced on Thursday, September 4th.

The Armani fashion house released a statement on social media, stating that the designer passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. His funeral will be held privately, while his body will be available for public viewing in Milan on September 6th and 7th.

Born in Piacenza in 1934, Armani began his career in medicine before turning to fashion. With the support of his partner, Sergio Galeotti, he founded his company in the mid-1970s. He gained international recognition in 1980 when he dressed Richard Gere in the film "American Gigolo."

Armani expanded his company into various sectors, including cosmetics, perfumes, home goods, restaurants, and hotels. In 2000, the Guggenheim Museum in New York dedicated an exhibition to his work.
