Josh D'Amaro Named New Disney CEO

Walt Disney has appointed Josh D'Amaro as its new CEO, replacing Bob Iger. D'Amaro, who has 28 years of experience with the company, will assume his duties on March 18.
His responsibilities include overseeing 12 theme parks and 54 resorts worldwide. He joined the company in 1998 and most recently held the position of chairman of Disney Experiences, which employs 185,000 employees with revenues of $36 billion in 2023.
D'Amaro's selection marks the end of uncertainty about the succession of Disney's leadership. Bob Iger had served as CEO for two decades, with a brief interruption.
Disney faces increased political pressure in the US, with criticism from Republicans for promoting the 'woke agenda'. Recently, the company received criticism for temporarily suspending comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
