Aivazoglou: Athens Team to Join NBA Europe

Giorgos Aivazoglou, General Manager of NBA Europe, announced that a team from Athens will participate in the new NBA Europe league, expected to launch in 2027.

Speaking at the Football Business Forum in Milan, Aivazoglou revealed that NBA Europe will consist of 12 permanent teams and 4 teams based on their performance.

The 12 permanent teams will be from the following cities: London, Manchester, Paris, Lyon, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Munich, Athens, Istanbul, Milan, and Rome.

Aivazoglou also mentioned potential future scenarios, such as a tournament featuring teams from both the NBA and NBA Europe, or a tournament similar to FIFA's Club World Cup.
