D. Giannakopoulos: "In 2026, we will rewrite Euroleague history"

Dimitris Giannakopoulos, through a post on Instagram, expressed his desire for Panathinaikos to conquer the Euroleague. After the victory against Red Star, the owner of KAE Panathinaikos referred to the conquests of 2002 with Dejan Bodiroga and 2024 with Kostas Sloukas.

"In 2026, AGAINST all odds, we will rewrite history with the most magical European title to date...", he characteristically wrote, accompanying his post with Anna Vissi's song "Kontra".

In detail, D. Giannakopoulos wrote: "Always accustomed to opposition, we at Panathinaikos. In 2002 AGAINST all odds, with Dejan we took the then most magical European title in history. In 2024 AGAINST all odds, with Sloukas we took the even more magical European title. In 2026 AGAINST all odds, we will rewrite history with the most magical European title to date....Why? BECAUSE WE ARE PANATHINAIKOS! THE GREATEST TEAM THAT SPORTS HAS EVER SEEN!"
