Official: SEF Stadium Leased to Olympiacos for 49 Years

The Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) is officially leased to Olympiacos B.C. for the next 49 years. The relevant amendment, submitted to the Parliament by Giannis Vroutsis, was approved with broad consensus.

According to the announcement, the new regulations enhance transparency, gender equality, the organization of sustainable clubs, and the fight against violence in sports. The Minister of Sports, Giannis Vroutsis, emphasized that this is the government's fourth legislative intervention in sports.

Key points of the agreement:

• Minimum investments of €4 million over 12 years.
• Allocation of 30% of net commercial revenue to SEF.
• Conducting sports and cultural events.
• Free use by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (EOK) for national teams.
• Respect for existing concessions and labor relations.

The conversion of SEF into a purely basketball facility will be funded exclusively by Olympiacos B.C. The agreement is based on EU law on state aid and on models such as OAKA and the Ano Liosia Indoor Hall.
