Euroleague: Heavy fine for Dimitris Giannakopoulos

Dimitris Giannakopoulos, the main shareholder of Panathinaikos AKTOR, has been fined a total of 50,000 euros by the EuroLeague. The penalty was imposed for statements he made on social media and other media outlets after the match of the 30th round against Olympiacos.

In more detail, the fine is distributed as follows:

• 10,000 euros for statements regarding the refereeing on social media.
• 20,000 euros for derogatory remarks towards people performing technical activities in the Euroleague.
• 20,000 euros for individuals performing technical activities within the framework of the Euroleague Basketball competition.
