Pesic: Disappointed by Antetokounmpo's Absence from Tournament

Serbian national team coach Svetislav Pesic expressed his disappointment over Giannis Antetokounmpo's absence from the friendly preparation tournament with Greece in Cyprus, ahead of EuroBasket 2025.
Pesic stated: "I am sorry that Antetokounmpo is not here. We planned this tournament partly because of him. We have good relations with the Greeks, and they always respond to our invitations." He also added that perhaps the Greek team is facing some problems and imagines they are equally disappointed that Micic is not playing.
Referring to his team's preparation, Pesic emphasized: "We are focusing on our own development. We want to improve our physical condition, work on tactical issues, develop individually, and see where we are at the moment."
Regarding injuries, he mentioned that two players stayed in Belgrade, but it is nothing serious. He pointed out that he wants to give every player the opportunity to show what they can do.
Finally, he commented on the minimal preparation time, saying: "The players come from different clubs with different systems, and then you have 28 days to combine everything. People expect perfection, but it takes time to achieve it."
