Scariolo to Real Madrid, Laso for Spain National Team

Sergio Scariolo is reportedly close to an agreement to take over Real Madrid, with Pablo Laso being the favorite to succeed him as coach of the Spanish national team.

Real Madrid is expected to terminate its collaboration with Chus Mateo, despite winning the championship. According to Spanish media, Scariolo will be his replacement, returning to a club bench after Virtus Bologna (2021-2023).

It remains unclear whether Scariolo will coach Spain in the upcoming EuroBasket. Laso appears to be his successor, taking over either immediately or after EuroBasket, as Baskonia is expected to terminate its collaboration with him.
