Daniel Theis: 'I had an offer from Panathinaikos, Spanoulis convinced me'

Daniel Theis revealed that he had an offer from Panathinaikos AKTOR before signing with Monaco. Speaking on the Euro Insiders podcast, Theis emphasized that communication with Vassilis Spanoulis played a decisive role in his decision.

"Yes, I received an offer from Panathinaikos. But I had spoken with Spanoulis before receiving the offer from Panathinaikos. I've known the coach from vacations in Greece, 6-7 years ago," Theis stated.

Theis added: "The coach, to convince me, simply talked to me about his idea for basketball... When he told me what he had in mind for me, that I was the missing piece for them and that I could help the team. Anyway, I wanted to leave the NBA and play basketball."

Theis also mentioned an offer he had from the Knicks before deciding to come to Europe.
