Vassilis Spanoulis: First Statement After Leaving Monaco

Vassilis Spanoulis has departed from his position as head coach of Monaco, with his agent, Misko Raznatovic, announcing the news via Twitter. The 43-year-old coach resigned following a series of negative results and financial problems within the team.

In a statement, Spanoulis said: "My stay in Monaco will always remain in my memory. The first trophy I won as a coach and my first EuroLeague final are achievements I will never forget! I wish the club much success for the rest of the season."

Monaco, in its announcement, thanked Spanoulis for his contribution and wished him well in his future career. Spanoulis is expected to return to Athens, while remaining as the head coach of the Greek National Team.

According to reports, financial problems and tensions within the team had created an explosive atmosphere, leading to Spanoulis' departure.
