Why the Mavericks Haven't Waived Exum Yet: Trade Plan

The Dallas Mavericks have not yet waived Dante Exum, despite his injury keeping him out for the entire season. Mark Stein reported that the Mavericks are considering trading Exum's contract until February 5, when the trade window closes.

Exum has not played this year due to knee surgery. Initially, he was expected to be waived to create space for Ryan Nembhard, but the Mavericks appear to be considering other options.

If no team is found for a trade, Exum may return to the EuroLeague next season.
