Shaquille O'Neal: 'Addicted to painkillers for 19 years'

Shaquille O'Neal, a legend of the Los Angeles Lakers, revealed his addiction to painkillers during his career.

Speaking to the 'Los Angeles Times', Shaq mentioned that he took two pills every day for 19 years, emphasizing that sometimes he couldn't play if he didn't take them.

'If they told me to take one, I would take three. I ate sandwiches, potatoes and two pills for 19 years. Sometimes I couldn't play if I didn't take them. All they did was cover the pain. I took a lot of painkillers. Now I have limited kidney function. I don't have full function. I took so many painkillers that the doctors were saying: “You don’t need to take them now, you have to be careful”', he stated.
