Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been banned for two months following accusations of involvement in match-fixing. According to the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), Okoye received a two-month ban, avoiding a potential four-year penalty.

The incident occurred in March 2024, when Okoye received a yellow card in the match against Lazio for Serie A, raising suspicions of a deliberate act. An investigation revealed that a friend of Okoye bet and won 120,000 euros.

Despite his involvement in illegal betting, Okoye was not punished with a four-year penalty, as the investigation showed that there was no intention to fix the match.
