Switzerland Close to 2026 World Cup, Kosovo in Playoffs, Denmark Stumbles

Switzerland is one step away from the 2026 World Cup, while Kosovo has secured its place in the playoffs. Denmark drew 2-2 with Belarus.

In Group 2, Switzerland defeated Sweden 4-1 in Geneva. Embolo opened the scoring, Nygren equalized, and then Xhaka (penalty), Ndoye, and Manzambi scored. Kosovo defeated Slovenia 0-2 with goals from Asllani and Karnicnik (own goal), securing their place in the playoffs.

In Group 8, Bosnia and Herzegovina overturned the score and defeated Romania 3-1. Birligea scored for Romania, but Džeko, Bajraktarević, and Tabaković scored for Bosnia. Romania played with ten players from the 68th minute due to the expulsion of Dragus.
