Barcelona lost 2-1 to Real Sociedad at the «Anoeta», in a match marked by strong complaints about the refereeing. The «Blaugrana» saw five shots hit the woodwork, three goals disallowed, and a penalty overturned by VAR.

Team captain Frenkie De Jong expressed his dissatisfaction: «They told me there was no offside. The same thing happened last year at this stadium. You can't even talk to the referee. He responded to me with an attitude of 'I am superior to you.' In stoppage time, I told him they took a minute to take a free kick and he should add extra time. And he didn't even add ten seconds. It's crazy! I told him that and he showed me a yellow card».

Coach Hansi Flick agreed with his captain: «I completely agree with him. He is the captain, he wants to talk to the referee and he can't. Everyone saw what happened. I am focusing on us. The result does not reflect the image of the match. It was the unluckiest game of my career».
