La Liga: Real Madrid's Request to Postpone Season Opener Rejected

Real Madrid will begin their La Liga campaign as scheduled with a home match against Osasuna on August 19. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) rejected their request for a postponement, according to local media reports on Thursday.
The "Royal" club had requested a longer period for rest and preparation following their participation in the Club World Cup held in the United States, where they were eliminated in the semi-finals by Paris Saint-Germain on July 9.
According to Europa Press, the RFEF judge ruled that a change to the official calendar would require force majeure circumstances, which is not the case for Real Madrid.
"Finally, it should be added that, although the requesting club claims to have the consent of the opponent, namely Osasuna, there is no official response from their side," the judge's decision stated.
