Laporta Resigns from Barcelona: Who Takes Over as President?

Joan Laporta has resigned from the presidency of Barcelona ahead of the elections. The 64-year-old wishes to run for a second term and has stepped down to focus on his election campaign.
The duties of the president are temporarily taken over by Rafael Yuste, who will lead the administration until the completion of the electoral process. Laporta is expected to present his program, focusing on financial and competitive planning.
Along with Laporta, other members of the board of directors have also resigned, including: Elena Fort, Antonio Escudero, Ferran Olivé, Josep Maria Albert, Javier Barbany, Miquel Camps, Aureli Mas, Javier Puig and Joan Soler i Ferré.
The elections will be held on March 15. Laporta's main opponent is considered to be Victor Font.
