Benitez: "We need transfers and time"

Rafa Benitez acknowledged Betis' superiority after Panathinaikos' 4-0 defeat in the Europa League. Panathinaikos was eliminated from the competition.

In the press conference, Benitez stated that Betis were deserved winners and emphasized the need for transfers and time to develop the Panathinaikos project. Referring to Betis' tactics, he commented ironically: "Do you think the systems played a role tonight?"

Benitez stressed that Panathinaikos needs time, similar to that given to Betis with Pellegrini. He also highlighted the importance of transfers to stabilize the team's plan. Despite being eliminated from Europe and the likely 4th place in the league, Benitez stated that they will manage the time available in the best possible way, seeking wins in the remaining matches.
