Scholes Backtracks on Carrick Remarks: Clarification Issued

Paul Scholes has retracted his initial statements about Michael Carrick, his former teammate and current Manchester United coach, following criticism.

Scholes' initial statement concerned Manchester United's performance after their defeat to Newcastle. Patrice Evra sarcastically commented on Scholes' original post.

Speaking on the podcast 'The Good, The Bad & The Football,' Scholes emphasized that he had no intention of personally criticizing Carrick and that he contacted him to clarify the situation. Carrick took over as coach after Amorim's departure.

Wes Brown noted that Scholes' comment could be misinterpreted. Manchester United remains third in the standings and is vying for a place in the Champions League.
