Joaquín is returning to Real Betis to take on an administrative role. The former midfielder, who served the team for 15 years, will join the board of directors of the 'Verdiblancos'.

Joaquín began his career at Betis in 1999 and made his debut with the first team in 2000. In 2006, he transferred to Valencia for 25 million euros. Transfers to Málaga and Fiorentina followed before returning to Betis in 2015, where he retired in 2023.

With Betis, Joaquín made 498 appearances, scored 66 goals, and provided 68 assists, winning two cups (2004/05 and 2021/22). He also won the 'Copa Del Rey' with Valencia in 2007/08. With the Spanish national team, he had 51 appearances and 4 goals.
