Heliopoulos Facing Potential Suspension After Match; What the Regulations Say

Following the match against Olympiacos, Marios Heliopoulos expressed strong dissatisfaction with the refereeing decisions of Dutch referee, Danny Makkelie. Heliopoulos was visibly upset and, as seen in videos, gestured to the referee how he would handcuff him.

A similar incident occurred with Lubos Michel in the infamous PAOK – AEK match when Ivan Savvidis entered the Toumba stadium. At that time, the First Instance Disciplinary Body of the Super League imposed a 90-day ban from entering the playing fields and a fine of €15,000 on the Technical Director of PAOK FC.

Mr. Michel was punished under Article 11 of the EPO Disciplinary Code, which states that a team official may be banned from entering the playing areas for one to six months and fined from €5,000 to €40,000.
