Porto: Secret Transfer of Luuk de Jong Revealed

Porto surprised everyone by announcing the transfer of Luuk de Jong at the «Dragao» stadium. The announcement occurred at the end of the team presentation for the 2025-2026 season, just before a friendly match against Atlético Madrid.

The newspaper «O Jogo» revealed that only the board of directors knew about the player's arrival. De Jong signed a one-year contract after his contract with Eindhoven expired. The agreement was negotiated behind the scenes for over a week.

During the medical examinations, the player appeared as a transfer for the handball team. At the airport, his agent picked up his luggage for discretion.
