Premier League Shatters Transfer Record with $4 Billion

The Premier League has recorded its most expensive transfer summer in history, with clubs spending a total of $4 billion. The previous record of $2.36 billion was set in 2023.
Liverpool was a major player, breaking the record for the most expensive transfer twice, first with Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen (£116 million) and then with Alexander Isak from Newcastle (£125 million). The Reds spent a total of £442 million.
Chelsea set a sales record with £314.4 million. The financial gap with other European leagues remains large due to the Premier League's television rights.
