Aris Agrees with Manolo Jiménez

Aris is close to finalizing an agreement with the 61-year-old Spanish coach, Manolo Jiménez, according to bwinΣΠΟΡ FM 94.6. Jiménez is returning to Greece for the fifth time, but this time to take over as head coach of Aris Thessaloniki, not AEK.

Jiménez's return comes after Aris's 0-2 home defeat to Panetolikos, which led to the departure of Marinos Ouzounidis. Theodoros Karypidis and the Aris management moved quickly to replace him.

Rubén Reyes took over the search for the new coach, with the choice of Jiménez signaling a return to tried and tested solutions. Contacts are at an advanced stage and final announcements are expected soon.

Jiménez was last employed as coach of APOEL.
