Jerome Boateng Announces Retirement from Football

Jerome Boateng has announced his decision to retire from professional football. The German defender made the announcement via a social media post, thanking all the teams he played for.
"I played for a long time, for big clubs, for my country. I learned, won, lost and matured through it all. Football has given me a lot, but now it's time to move on. Not because I have to, but because I'm ready," Boateng wrote.
During his career, Boateng played for Bayern Munich for about ten years, winning two Champions League titles and nine German championships. He also played for LASK Linz, Lyon, and Salernitana.
