Hakimi: 'I Deserve the Ballon d'Or'

Achraf Hakimi, Paris Saint-Germain defender, expressed his desire to win the Ballon d'Or in an interview with 'Canal+'. The 26-year-old stressed that he deserves it, referring to the historic season he had.

'When I am put in the discussion for the Ballon d'Or, it is a dream I never thought of. If I have the opportunity to win it, I think I deserve it too. We had a historic season and there are not many players who have scored in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, especially defenders,' he said.

Hakimi added that his statistics are not typical for a defender and that a defender with such performance deserves more than an attacker.
