Haiti Qualifies for 2026 World Cup with Remote Coach

Haiti has qualified for the 2026 World Cup, for the second time in its history after 1974, defeating Nicaragua 2-0 in the qualifiers.
Notably, the team's coach, Sebastien Migne, has never visited the country since taking office 18 months ago due to the surge in violence and clashes between gangs.
The team is forced to play as host in Curacao, 800 kilometers away. Migne stated that he receives information about the players through telephone communications with the Haitian Football Federation.
Migne was an assistant coach for Cameroon at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
