A footballer in Turkey has gone viral for saving a seagull during an amateur league match. The incident occurred in the final of the Istanbul 1st Amateur League Play-Offs, between Mevlanakapi Guzelhisar and Istanbul Yurdum Spor, in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul.

In the 22nd minute of the game, Istanbul Yurdum Spor's goalkeeper, Muhammet Uyanik, attempted to clear the ball, which struck a seagull flying over the field. The seagull fell to the ground, and the team captain, Gani Çatan, rushed to help.

Çatan, without formal first aid training, performed CPR on the seagull, administering chest compressions. After two minutes, the seagull began to show signs of life and was transferred to the match's medical staff.

Uyanik stated that he was shocked when he realized what he had hit, emphasizing that it was a living creature.
