Greek Athletics Team Arrives in Japan for World Championship Prep

The Greek athletics team has arrived in Japan for the primary stage of their preparations for the World Championships. The team received a warm welcome in Misato, where they will stay for the next nine days.

The delegation, which departed from Athens on September 2nd, arrived in Tokyo on September 3rd. In Misato, the team was warmly greeted by the Municipality, with Greek flags and banners.

Team members, including Miltiadis Tentoglou, Emmanouil Karalis, Antigoni Drisbioti, Alexandros Papamichail, and Christos Frantzeskakis, have competed in Japan before during the Olympic Games.

The athletes currently in Japan are Miltiadis Tentoglou, Emmanouil Karalis, Antigoni Drisbioti, Christos Frantzeskakis, Alexandros Papamichail, Kostas Zaltos, Giannis Rizos, Stamatia Scarveli, Oxana Koreneva, Olga Fiasca, Sofia Alikanioti, and Angelos Mantzurani. Sofia Sakorafa, president of SEGAS, will be in Tokyo to support the team.

The head of the delegation is Xenia Argietaki, a member of the SEGAS board, and the head of the technical part is Christos Meletoglou.
