Mattarella Calls for Olympic Truce Respect Before Games

Italian President Sergio Mattarella has called for respect for the Olympic Truce ahead of the start of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. The appeal was made during the 145th Session of the International Olympic Committee.

Mattarella stressed that sport promotes peace and brotherhood, in contrast to a world of barriers and violence. He called for a cessation of hostilities through the truce.
