Ivanisevic: 'Only His Father Can Coach Tsitsipas'

Goran Ivanisevic has spoken about his recent split with Stefanos Tsitsipas, claiming that only his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, can effectively coach him.

In statements to a Croatian media outlet, Ivanisevic said that he discussed the matter with Tsitsipas without any misunderstandings and that the Greek tennis player decided to return to his father as his coach. Ivanisevic stated: 'I honestly believe that the only one who can coach him is his father. He has played his best tennis with him, he knows him better than anyone. It's a family affair.'

Ivanisevic also commented on his statements regarding Tsitsipas's physical condition, which had caused reactions. He claimed that he had no intention of offending Tsitsipas and that his comments were intended to provoke a reaction. 'I wasn't talking behind his back. I did it to provoke a reaction,' he said.

Tsitsipas is expected to make his next appearance at the Toronto Masters, with Apostolos Tsitsipas once again by his side.
