Kyrgios on Sabalenka: 'It's funny she thinks she can beat me'

Nick Kyrgios will face Aryna Sabalenka in a 'Battle of the Sexes' match in Hong Kong in the first week of 2026.

In his statements, Kyrgios mentioned that he finds it funny that Sabalenka believes she can beat him. 'I'm looking forward to this match, it has a great character and is a tennis spectacle. It makes me laugh that she seriously thinks she can beat me,' he said.

Kyrgios added that he won't need to try 100% to win, but he will be focused and represent men's tennis. He even predicted that he would win 6-2.

The revival of the 'Battle of the Sexes' comes after the first match in 1973 between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King, which King won.
