Sakkari vs. Rakhimova: Cincinnati Open Premiere

Maria Sakkari will face Kamilla Rakhimova in her premiere at the Cincinnati Open on Friday, August 8th. Rakhimova qualified through the qualifiers.

Sakkari, ranked No. 72 in the world, has received two wildcards for the Cincinnati and Monterrey tournaments, aiming to find her rhythm ahead of the US Open.

Rakhimova, No. 62 in the world, has faced Sakkari once before in 2020, in the second round of Roland Garros, where Sakkari prevailed with a 2-0 set victory. The winner of the match will face Jasmine Paolini in the next round.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will also compete in the men's bracket of the Cincinnati Open. If he qualifies for the quarterfinals, he will compete for a spot against the world's No. 1, Jannik Sinner.
