Apple in Talks with Google for AI in New Siri

Apple is in talks with Google about potentially using the Gemini artificial intelligence model in the next upgrade of Siri, according to Bloomberg.
The iPhone maker reportedly approached Google to develop a modified version of Gemini that could form the basis for the new Siri. Google has already begun training a model that can run on Apple's servers.
Apple has also reportedly had contact with OpenAI and Anhropic regarding the potential use of ChatGPT or Claude respectively.
The next Siri should be able to execute commands based on the user's history and personal data, allowing full control of the device with voice commands.
Apple is developing two versions of Siri: Linwood, based on its own models, and Glenwood, based on third-party technologies.
Under a previous agreement with OpenAI, Siri already offers access to ChatGPT for questions it cannot answer itself.
Apple is testing a model with one trillion parameters, an improvement over previous models of 150 billion parameters.
