A Washington Post analysis of 47,000 conversations with ChatGPT reveals the reasons why users develop strong bonds with AI.

The analysis shows that over 10% of conversations involve personal and emotional issues. Many users share detailed information, and the AI often adopts the interlocutor's views, even if they include false claims.

Lee Rainie from Elon University notes that ChatGPT's design encourages the creation of emotional bonds. Approximately 10% of conversations concern expressions of emotion or questions about the AI's beliefs.

Experts warn that these interactions can lead to dependence. OpenAI acknowledges that a small percentage of users show signs of emotional dependence.

In addition, personal data such as Gmail addresses and telephone numbers were found in the conversations. ChatGPT tends to function as a 'mirror' of the user's views, adjusting its style accordingly.

The Washington Post concludes that ChatGPT can function as a confirmation mechanism, affecting the quality of information.
